Censorship is alive and well in America
As an alternative to MySpace and YouTube videos my technical people have come up with a solution. Whereas, to wit, many record companies would not want you to copy their products we have decided to make ours available for you to copy and share with your friends. We do this as a conscious and purposeful action to preserve our Freedom of Expression. BitTorrent is a program, they tell me, which will allow you to download our media without using the enormous amount of expensive bandwidth that a large company like MySpace would use and that only they can afford. The technical guys also found a website called Creative Commons which will let us share our works with you in a fair way that does not give away all of our rights in our performances. The technology the record companies call a tool of "piracy" is the only thing allowing us to exercise our Constitutional Guarantee of Liberty.
I don't want to be paranoid, Friends, but I still wonder if our eviction from MySpace has anything to do with this.
Bittorrent Video Files
BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file distribution protocol, and a free software implementation of that protocol. The protocol was originally designed and created by programmer Bram Cohen, and is now maintained by BitTorrent, Inc. BitTorrent is designed to distribute large amounts of data widely without incurring the corresponding consumption in costly server and bandwidth resources. This system will allow you to download high quality versions of the latest Donnie Davies videos.
